Dialogue with the candidate for President of the General Assembly

15 May 2025

Executive Director Jaewon Choi delivered a virtual intervention in the informal interactive dialogue with H.E. Annalena Baerbock, candidate for President of the 80th session, on meaningful youth participation in the General Assembly.

The informal interactive dialogues give member states and observers a chance to question candidates for President of the General Assembly. The Foundation's intervention asked H.E. Annalena Baerbock how she would institutionalise meaningful youth participation across the Assembly's work.

The Foundation holds accreditations and observer arrangements across the United Nations system, which allow its representatives to take the floor in intergovernmental meetings. Interventions are prepared by the Secretariat and, where applicable, coordinated with the Major Group for Children and Youth, whose constituency the Foundation regularly represents.

The full texts of related statements, submissions and reports are available in the documents library on the Publications page, where they can be filtered by category and year.
