The Foundation and the Oceans Youth Constituency delivered interventions and held bilateral meetings with delegations from every region, the Director of DOALOS, and senior advisers of WWF and IUCN at the second session preparing the high seas treaty.
The Preparatory Commission is readying the entry into force of the BBNJ Agreement, the new treaty on marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction. The Foundation's delegation, working alongside the Oceans Youth Constituency of the Major Group, delivered a series of interventions and met delegations from every region, the Director of DOALOS and senior advisers of WWF and IUCN.
The Foundation holds accreditations and observer arrangements across the United Nations system, which allow its representatives to take the floor in intergovernmental meetings. Interventions are prepared by the Secretariat and, where applicable, coordinated with the Major Group for Children and Youth, whose constituency the Foundation regularly represents.
